In 2007, with digital data sharing growing, I found myself at a crossroads where I wondered whether my business, Songland Records, would continue to be viable.
I realised I needed help if Songland Records was to continue, so I decided to approach Nexis. I sat down with Domenic and he provided me with valuable business mentoring where he asked both financial and non-financial questions and offered advice. He built me a strategic action plan, designed to achieve my goals, which included sourcing a new business location.
He also ran financial forecasting and sensitivity analysis to put my mind at ease and prove that my business had the potential to be viable and profitable while operating out of a new location at Cooleman Court, Weston.
With all of Domenic's hard work, I was able to make a very important decision about my future. I decided to continue Songland Records, at Cooleman Court, and since then have I become Canberra's only full range independent music, DVD and Ticketek retailer and I am known as the “Home of the hard to find” for CDs and DVDs.
