Whether she’s finding a harmonious balance in your accounts, or harmonising to Brooklyn 99 as Jake Perolta forces a criminal line-up to sing “I Want it That Way,” (which by the way, if you haven’t seen you’re missing out), Joanne is one of the most valuable cogs in the accounting machine that is Nexis. Having been with us for just over a year, Joanne’s major focus is in Accounts Receivable Administration. This means that on any given day, Joanne will use her expertise to organise and handle any outstanding invoices a client may have or money that they may be owed. It’s not all about Nexis though, Joanne has an “out-voice” too. From jamming out to the classics at a concert, to going to cool restaurants around the world, we spoke to her about what her life outside Nexis looks like…
What was the best concert you’ve ever attended?
Being a Rocket Queen at Guns and Roses concert in “Paradise City” (England).
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
As they say, “home is where the heart is”. I don’t have a particular country, city or location that I love the most. My favourite place in the world is wherever my family is.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
It’s a struggle to pick just one! Swimming with sharks and stingrays, spontaneously booking a flight to New York with friends flying out a few days later, meeting Axl Rose and hanging out with Sebastian Bach/Skid Row at a Hilton hotel, the list goes on!
What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I’m loving Brooklyn 99 at the moment. Much like Cheddar the dog, this show is the alpha of Netflix.
What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
Anything I don’t cook myself… On a serious note though, it would be at Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant, Dinner by Heston, at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London. It was listed in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. In fitting Heston style, the food was truly out of this world!
Which four individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?
Bill Murray, Will Ferrell, Sir Isaac Newton and Marie Curie.
What is your favourite family tradition?
Christmas Santa photos. They never get old and only seem to get better with time!
