Domenic Stramandinoli

Founding Director

Show Profile

Domenic has more than 19 years’ experience delivering a vast range of taxation and business advisory services to his clients throughout Canberra and the surrounding region. He says that building trust with his clients is an essential element of what he does as it allows for the creation of strategies and programs that assist with maximising business value and accomplishing set goals.

With a particular interest in technology for business, he is always looking closely at how it can assist Nexis and their clients to improve productivity and profitability. Domenic is also active in the mobile app space and has helped launch a number of apps, both in Australia and overseas. His involvement in apps has provided some of Nexis’ sophisticated investor clients with the opportunity to invest and provide seed funding for a number of global tech company launches.

“I don’t see myself as an accountant so much as a trusted advisor for my clients. This means I don’t just see them once a year to prepare their financial accountants and tax returns. I really enjoy developing the deep level of trust that enables me to assist and advise my clients to achieve financial freedom.”

Domenic became a Chartered Accountant in 1998 and, on the back of a dynamic career, co-founded Nexis in 2004 and advanced to become a Chartered Accountant fellow in 2013. He has a deep understanding of numbers and the value drivers behind business success, and he uses that to educate and empower clients to make the right business decisions.

Outside of work, Domenic loves nothing more than a simple barbecue with friends, and spending time with his family.

Leo Liu

Accountant

Show Profile

Leo joined Nexis in the role of bookkeeper in 2016 but there was no holding Leo back once he demonstrated his mastery and skill for balancing the books and making the numbers sing. He quickly worked his way into the role of Accountant in late 2018 inline with his studies as a Chartered Accountant.  Leo is responsible for helping to train up the book keeping team and providing client accounting services.

“The best accounting advice I give my clients regularly is to keep your books in good shape. It’s just like training for a basketball game, you don’t just turn up to the match, you turn up to training weekly, play the main game and get better and improve as the season progresses.

With accounting it’s much easier to process and reconcile transactions when your memory is still fresh and having ‘fit accounts’ will mean you can manage your cash flow more efficiently, identify any potential issues much earlier and stay on top of your business”

When he’s not wrangling client accounts in Xero, Leo enjoys family time, especially his families Chinese tradition of making dumplings together.

At his Graduation Ceremony for his Masters of Accounting, Leo was awarded the Masters Prize of Excellence for having the highest GPA across the ANU.
