Senior Accountant

WHAT YOUR NEW ROLE WILL INVOLVE

  • Preparing financial statements and tax returns for a diverse range of clients including Companies, Superannuation Funds, Trusts, Partnerships and Individuals;
  • Preparation of Accounts and associated work-papers, preparation of statutory returns, including BAS, IAS and FBT;
  • Working closely with Managers and Partners;
  • Researching and interpreting Tax legislation;
  • Assisting Managers and Partners with business advisory engagements; and
  • Managing a portfolio of clients – autonomously liaising directly with clients and being the main point of contact for client queries.

WHAT OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL OFFER US

  • CA qualifications or near completion;
  • 3+ years of experience;
  • Up to date knowledge of taxation legislation;
  • Professionally driven and client focused;
  • Strong IT skills; and
  • Team player.

Maternity Leave Receptionist

Nexis Accountants & Business Advisors are seeking an individual with strong administration experience for the temporary contract position of full time Receptionist for our firm in Belconnen. This vacancy is required to be filled immediately with an anticipated duration of 8 months to cover maternity leave.

The receptionist at Nexis is often the first point of contact with our clientele. As the face of our firm, you will enjoy a dynamic and varied role in a supportive team.

A TYPICAL DAY IN YOUR NEW ROLE WILL INVOLVE

  • Delivering outstanding customer service to our valued clientele;
  • Performing reception duties with minimal supervision such as management of visitors, clientele, phone calls, mail and deliveries;
  • Proactive management of a range of administrative tasks in support of the firm such as stationary and correspondence;
  • Maintaining reception, foyer, meeting rooms and the staff room to a consistently high standard; and
  • Contribution to the administration team’s deadlines and milestones.

TO STAND OUT FROM THE REST, YOU WILL HAVE

  • Proven experience in a similar administration role;
  • A keen team player who takes pride in the quality of their work;
  • Outstanding customer service ability including conflict resolution and excellent phone manner;
  • A proactive, positive and ‘can-do’ attitude;
  • Desire to take ownership of the role, exhibiting an impressive time management skillset;
  • An ability to ‘hit the ground running’, providing value to the success of the firm in administration support;
  • Professional experience in Microsoft Suite including Outlook. Word and Excel to that of an intermediate level; and
  • Experience in Xero and/or Xero Practice Manager. Training will be provided as this criterion is desirable but not essential.
