John Faulks deals with numbers
John, you’re in an elevator and you have 2 stops until you arrive at your client’s floor to describe your role, go for it…
As a Senior Manager, I mentor staff, review their accounting work and am the main point of contact for our individual tax return clientele. I am also a second point of contact for many of our clientele should the director not be available.
Where’s your favourite place in the world?
The Great Barrier Reef.
Which I think has something do with the animal you most want to be, right?
Yep, I would be a shark. I love the ocean and like the idea of being top of the food chain.
What’s your favourite movie?
What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
I enjoy propagating and cultivating plants (not illegal ones!!)
What is your favourite family tradition?
Driving with my family to look at decorations on Christmas Eve. It’s a great time to be in Canberra.
Who is your least favourite superhero and why?
The Hulk. I don’t like him when he’s angry.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A night owl. However, now I have a young family I am being forced to become a morning person.
And don’t leave us hanging, give us your best accounting tip?
Sorry I broke the rules and gave you two…
Tip 1: Before you do anything, it is worth a quick chat with your accountant. It can save you a considerable amount of time and money in the future.
Tip 2: Take advantage of the Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) exemptions that are available.
