ATO reminder on quick and easy way to pay your BAS

For Business
January 22, 2019

The ATO has recently posted a reminder that the quickest and easiest way to pay your BAS is with BPAY, a credit card or debit card. You can also pay using a payment reference number (PRN), or EFT code, if you lodge online.

Nexis is always here to assist you with your BAS and reporting obligations, but did you know that you can now also make early payments to offset future BAS? All you need is your PRN, and you can use any of the available payment methods to voluntarily make early payments to offset your future BAS liability.

Here’s how to find your PRN.

For businesses that lodge and pay through the Business Portal:

  1. Log into the portal.
  2. At the menu at left, select Payment Options.
  3. Select the relevant PRN and finalise your payment.

For sole traders who lodge and pay through myGov:

  1. Log into ATO Online Services via myGov.
  2. Select Tax.
  3. Select Accounts.
  4. Select Summary.
  5. Select the relevant PRN and finalise your payment.

Still unsure? See the latest from the ATO or get in touch with Nexis.
